Back To Wall Toilet Buying Guide

by Greg Dallamore

A back to wall toilet is a great way to create a modern clutter-free environment in your bathroom. Back to wall toilets are floor-standing, sit flush to the wall and are fitted with a concealed cistern, removing dust traps and hiding pipework. Back to wall toilets are more cost-effective than wall-hung toilets, as well as being easier and faster to install.

What else do I need to buy?

To install a back to wall toilet you also need a concealed cistern to operate it. The cistern is housed in furniture (or a wall), with just the flush plate or button showing. Toilet furniture units are a great way to match finishes to other furniture in the room. Toilet units are easy to install, help conceal pipework and also allow easy access to service the cistern if required.

Tip! When choosing your cistern just make sure that it will fit within the furniture or wall space that it will be installed into.

Furniture combinations

Back to wall toilets are the perfect partner for larger runs of bathroom furniture such as a basin & toilet combination unit. These units look great whilst easily creating lots of storage in your bathroom.

Tight on space?

For smaller bathrooms and cloakrooms, there are lots of compact back to wall toilets to save space. Bear in mind that you need to allow for the concealed cistern and any furniture or wall space when working out the overall projection of a back to wall toilet.
